The Measure of Faith

after a tremendous b.s, slash b.s equals bible study, with my most excellent of groups, slash there was only five of us there, including jess and luke, but nonetheless, been thinking a lot about faith. the study was actually on the power of prayer and praying and stuff, but yeah, got challenged and been wrestling with how much faith do i place in God when i pray. like i ask for bundles of stuff, but do i think that God will actually answer them? like i pray for a friend of mine who shall remain nameless and no this friend isnt me, and he is... well there is something unusual about this guy. he is a great guy. caring, loving, funny, like he is a champ. but just not a christian. and he like, is one of those people you go, oh no, he wont ever be a christian, its just not him. and like, id given up on him. and was like, i can be a good witness when i see him and whatnot, but he shant become a christian, well he might, but yeah, thats not my prerogative. anyway. yeah, being asked do i ACTUALLY think God will say yes rhys, i will bring this guy into my family, good job praying for him. like. yeah. changed my perspective. like God answers so many of our, please Lord, help me get this assignment done, kind of selfish worldly prayers, and we dont even notice, and yet, when we ask for big things, eternally significant things that can bring someone to their salvation, we dont even have faith that God, He who created and sustains all things, will actually answer them. how RIDICULOUS is that. i dont mean this as a DO BETTER YOU... cause i am guilty of this too. so, i am trying to start praying, and knowing God can do all things.
""Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Matthew 11:22-24
so team, be encouraged, and have FAITH that God can and will answer your prayers, even if it is with a no, or a wait. sometimes its a yes though, thats a good time.

i'm so glad its not our call to write dudes off huh :) if that were the case - i wouldn't be mates with God.

thats true as giny - its hard not to just relay stuff to our mates and leave god to the side.
if our mates are soverign we should just pray to them! we're not very wise creatures sometimes eh! :) let's be encouraged to do different!!

G'day rhys

Great blogspot mate & "so wise" words.
Good to see people are being stretched in their relationship with God from bible study. God continues to stretch me in my prayers.
